I am writing this story to let ALL of my clients know how important it is to Microchip your pets!

My little dog Iris has always been afraid of thunderstorms, loud noises and motorcycles. I did not think about it on July 4th when the large church in our neighborhood set off a celebratory fireworks display. The next morning, the gate to our backyard had been lifted off its hinges and Iris was missing.

Multiple trips to the Animal Shelter, searching the neighborhood and posting her photo were unsuccessful. Sadly by Saturday we were about to give up hope, when we got a call from the Animal Control Officer. Someone 12 blocks away found Iris hiding in their backyard behind a shed. The Officer scanned her for a microchip and my name, address and telephone number were retrieved. The Animal Control Officer delivered Iris to our home, and for that I will always be grateful.

I have all my pets (2 dogs & 2 cats) micro-chipped because I never know when they will need to find their way back home. Give us a call at (817) 277-6301 and we can schedule an appointment to get your pets microchipped too! This is probably one of the most important things you can do for your pets.

Have a great summer,
Dr. Bonnie
